In pictures: A week soaking up the sun, surf and golf on Kauai
A week can go by fast on the island of Kauai with five rounds of golf, three meals a day, a few sunsets and beach time.
There are just nine golf courses on Kauai, and they're all very different, especially the ones open for public play.
Two of them are designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.: the acclaimed Princeville Makai Course on the North Shore, and Poipu Bay, the former home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
There's no shortage of great food, hospitality and beaches, of course. Scenes from the Academy Award winning movie "The Descendants" were shot at Tahiti Nui; Plantation Gardens at Poipu Beach is an island institution and the sunsets at the St. Regis Princeville Resort and Hanalei Pier are breathtaking. Add in a little beach time, and you've got a perfect week on Kauai.
