Pound-for-pound, Kauai's golf scene is as good as any in Hawaii, boasting less than 10 total golf courses but for what it does have, it does very well. Less populous than Maui and Oahu, Kauai has a slow vibe with no real large towns and lots of scenery. It's a popular spot to shoot movies, including "Jurassic Park."
The most recognizable of the collection is Poipu Bay Golf Course, former host to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. This Robert Trent Jones Jr. design is one of Hawaii's most scenic. The Prince Course at the Princeville Resort is considered one of Hawaii's if not America's toughest golf courses thanks to its location cut on rugged hillsides and fairways cut through jungle.
